Germana pentru incepatori - Lectia 4. Cat este ceasul?

*This lesson is in Romanian language. But all the exercises are in German. So feel free to click on the Links and exercise. We are learning today how to tell the time.

Voi posta si aici linkul despre care am vorbit in film.

Mutti ruft schon wieder,

Um 1 essen wir Mittag;

In curand veti reusi sa auziti cuvintele invatate deja.

Germana pentru incepatori - Lectia 3. Numerele. Familia

*This lesson is in Romanian language. But all the exercises are in German. So feel free to click on the Links and exercise. We are learning the numbers and the members of a family.

Exercitiul 1: Scrieti dupa dictare.

Numerele sunt date in forma lor scrisa si in tabelul alaturat trebuie sa le identificati. Exercitiul 2

Putem exersa in Exercitiul 3. (Atentie!

Acultati dialogul si incercati sa puneti propozitiile in ordinea lor corecta. Exercitiul 4

In final as dori sa apelez la voi pentru feedback.

Anki - the intelligent flashcards

Anki is a program which makes remembering things easy. Because it is a lot more efficient than traditional study methods, you can either greatly decrease your time spent studying, or greatly increase the amount you learn.
Anyone who needs to remember things in their daily life can benefit from Anki. Since it is content-agnostic and supports images, audio, videos and scientific markup, the possibilities are endless. For example:
  • learning a language
  • studying for medical and law exams
  • memorizing people's names and faces
  • brushing up on geography
  • mastering long poems
  • even practicing guitar chords!
This is how Anki´s developer describes it´s program on http://ankisrs.net/
Studies have shown that 48 hours after a study session, we have generally forgotten 75% of the material. When undertaking something that requires a lot of memorization, such as studying a new language, forgetting 75% of the material you learn can be very demotivating. So I have decided to try it out myself. And it works :)
After testing some existing decks I´ve realized it would be much effective if I use my own cards, to remember for example, the vocabulary from a given lesson. Indeed, now I can remember much more easier the new words. One of my tricks are to introduce together with the word expressions and examples. Here is a model:

What do you think? And of course, I try to make so that the explanation is also in German, to learn the language as naturally as possible for a non-native.

One of my friends, Helen, suggested me to make a deck with the words requested at official tests, as for example a list of words for "Start Deutsch 1" for the level A1. This means a lot of work, there are more then 500 words, and I am already over that level. But I think this could help a lot for someone at the beginning. Of course, I would make the cards much more easier.

For example:

kommen < kommt, kam, ist gekommen >
Intr.Verb
_______ mal her!
Woher _________ das Brot?
Er _______ aus Italien.
Wir _______ spät nach Hause.

and on the other side would be the answers:

Komm mal her!
Woher kommt das Brot?
Er kommt aus Italien.
Wir kommen spät nach Hause.

So I said it is better to ask first, is there anybody who would be interested to have such a deck?
Please leave your comments below or on Facebook.
Also if you have any other suggestions or observations share them.

Download Anki today or use it online, as it better suits you. Just give it a try. For me, it works great.

350 Geburtstag Matthäus Pöppelmann

Another stamp for today:
Well, excuse my ignorance but I don´t really know who Matthäus Pöppelmann was, I never heard of him. So I did a little research.

Januar 1736 in Dresden.

Michael Schultz Photography

The Zwinger Palace in the heart of Saxony's state capital is one of the most famous Baroque buildings in Germany and next to the Frauenkirche probably the most famous monument in the city of Dresden. It is home to world-class museums and is a stage for musical and theatrical events. Visit their homepage to learn more about this beautiful building, its gardens and history.

As in previous years, the stamps that appear in the series "Post", present universal themes that fit various events. The theme of the current issue is "holidays in Germany," and thus addresses one time in which are known to be very many letters and postcards written.

Well, maybe there is not too much to write about this stamp. It´s a winter scenery. Here in Germany a very popular sport is skiing. There are numerous ski resorts. Nationalpark Jasmund

Because one of my hobbies is stamp collecting, I think it is interesting to "see" Germany also by its stamps. So I am starting today to write a few things about the stamps issued this year. Maybe some of you will like them. I will write in English, because details in German you can find following the link stated below (Source).

Today´s stamp illustrates a scenery of the Kieler beach in the Jasmund National park (official website http://www.nationalpark-jasmund.de/).
The Jasmund National Park is a nature reserve in the Jasmund peninsula, in the northeast of Rügen island in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, Germany. It is famous for the largest chalk cliffs of Germany, the so called Königsstuhl (German = "king's chair"). These cliffs are up to 161 m high above the Baltic Sea. The undisturbed beech forests behind the cliffs are also part of the national park. Let the video speak for itself.

Consisting of only 30 km², this is the smallest national park of Germany, founded in 1990. I think it would definitely worth a visit.

Regensburg Landkreis

TripAdvisor

The most popular side trip from Regensburg is to visit Walhalla, which Ludwig I of Bavaria built from 1830 to 1842 as a hall of fame for writers, artists, musicians, and other notables from the German-speaking world. You can also drive to the Parthenon-style building, which overlooks the Danube from a hill near Donaustauf (a village where you'll also find a ruined fortress worth exploring). Walhalla is about 10 km from the center of Regensburg (http://www.walhalla-regensburg.de). Find below some of our photos made there.

After these wonderful and peaceful views we went down to Regensburg. It is the 5th biggest city in Bavaria, but I wasn´t that much impressed. Maybe I was already too tired and the children also. And, by the way, no shopping, Sunday everything is closed. But I did succeed in taking some pictures.

Regensburg is known as the biggest preserved middle age city in Germany. There are many sightseeings in and around the city. The Steinerne Brücke with the historic Wurstkuchl, the St Peteer´s Cathedral, the old townhall with the Reichssaal, the narrow side streets of the old city or the Walhalla, in Regensburg there is much to see.

So if you are passing by, you should take a look on their website to find out more about the points of interest: http://www.regensburg.de or http://www.regensburgtravel.com/
